Plenary Session - Chris Hain, NASA Applied Sciences, Water Resources Associate Program Manager
Christopher Hain has played a significant role in the development of the Atmosphere Land Exchange Inverse (ALEXI) model that is currently used to monitor continental evapotranspiration, soil moisture, and drought.
Dr. Hain collaborates with a number of national and international scientists in the fields of hydrology, land-surface interactions and water resources.
This session will provide an overview of current and emerging technology at NASA and opportunities for application in the work of conservation districts and NRCS field offices. Existing and future collaborations with USDA will be discussed as they pertain to hydrology and groundwater level monitoring, land-surface interactions, and water resources. NASA’s applied sciences team is part of their Earth Science Division, using unique global observations from space, air, sea and land to help us better understand the planet’s interconnected systems.
